SUMMARY AND EXPLANATION:

Mumps virus, a member of the Paramyxoviridae family, is an enveloped RNA virus transmitted via respiratory droplets. Following mumps virus infection or immunization, IgG antibodies develop and persist for years. This assay detects mumps-specific IgG in human serum or plasma for research on immunity persistence, vaccine response, and seroepidemiologic profiling.
