SUMMARY AND EXPLANATION:

Mycoplasma pneumoniae is a cell wall–less bacterium and a common cause of respiratory tract infections. Transmission is through respiratory droplets. IgM antibodies typically appear during acute or recent infection. This assay detects M. pneumoniae-specific IgM in human serum or plasma for research on infection dynamics, immune response, and outbreak studies.
